Project overview

This project aims to form a Pharma Valley Medical Cluster in the Mt. Fuji area. It is ranked as a core project of the second and third strategic plans for the Pharma Valley Project being promoted by Shizuoka Prefecture, and will further promote the research and development for basic cancer diagnostic and treatment technology by a partnership of industry, academia and government formed from the project to promote urban industry, academia and government partnerships (evolving). It aims at clinical research, clinical trials and, moreover, commercialization and sale based on a strong “industry, academic and government network" with the participation of patients, families, medical peoples, university staff and corporate researchers, while thoroughly analyzing and making use of the medical scene at Shizuoka Cancer Center, which diagnoses and treats more than 10,000 cancer patients each year.
